I listened to principal Heath McNeil discuss his school's journey over the past 4 years. They have been part of the last ictpd contract. They developed a learning model that is used across their whole school curriculum. He discussed the difference between implementing an idea and enacting an idea. One suggestion for seeing how well change has been adopted is to use student voice. Mike's school has faced challenges this year with reporting to parents. They tried to use their knowledge net system to report to the national standards, as well as using it as their student portfolio. Parents requested a return to printed hard copy reports. Mike's quote: "Just because it is better, doesn't mean people will like it!"
