Thanks to the large number of Clearview Staff who attended the second MLE PLG. Below is the summary of the blog report. Any comments/ feedback/ ideas for Clearview warmly welcomed.
The Term 4 PLG was held on November 4th at Breens Intermediate School in Casebrook. A huge thank you to Brian Price and his team of teachers for hosting us.
Staff from Breens have been on a exciting journey over the last several years. Their school's values underpin their teaching and learning programmes, appraisal systems and are key drivers in the culture of the school.
They have modified their 1970's school buildings to provide transparency, deprivatised practice and to support their collaborative learning environments.

How can we arrange for collaborative teams to meet together?
Google docs for assessment - would be interesting to begin to see some specific examples of how schools are doing this and getting their honest feedback on what is easy/what is hard.
Ideas:
Duty timetable.
- a different way of working CRT to allow for some time every week / different arrangement of SMT covering in some way / somehow arranged within teams to release each other (team singing and hui etc / BOT funded position / Specialist teachers to teach an aspect of curriculum to free up teachers / altering team meeting structure to cater to collaboration time in power groups
How do we best assess / report / take ownership for all children within a power grouping? Would be nice to have some ideas before next year so that we are not re-inventing once systems are in place. Nice to start the year off together with the other HB in your power group so that right from the start children, parents and teachers know that there is collective ownership in all students.
