Green Zone Teaching as Inquiry

Our inquiry goal was improving the attitude of some of our low progress/ low motivation boys. From their attitude survey we found some these boys have a poor or a non-existent attitude towards what they do at school each day. Our aim was to make school and really exciting and motivating place for these boys and hoped this would have a positive on their achievement.

Some positives of our inquiry were:
-discussions around growth mindset with children
-successful completion of non challenging activities to develop independent work habits
-engagement and excitement when provided with creative activities that have no ‘wrong/right’ outcome

Next steps:
-implement ‘Growth Mindset Intervention’
-ensure creative activities have meaningful links to learning intentions
-getting these students to be active participants when working in a group
