Developing writing with our TAI - Anna H, Ryan And Harriet

Strategies
Activities for kinaesthetic learners - moving early in the lesson, and during the lesson, getting students to move to show their thoughts
Scaffolding and modelling into smaller chunks
Giving timeframes for each chunk - not overloading information
Personal experiences - linking to their interests

Resources
Using 'Daily 5' programme that supports reading and writing with independent tasks
A variety of tools to engage - whispering phone, reading glasses, puppets, soft toys, pointers
Interactive whiteboard activities
Pinterest activity ideas
TKI - exemplars
The Writing Book - Sheena Cameron

Readings/Courses
Daily 5 Book - Outlines the programme
The Daily Cafe - Details of the the Daily 5 programme

Barriers to success
Technology can be too engaging and set tasks need to be completed first, technology then is a motivating reward
Time to make new resources
Sickness/children missing sessions - it is difficult to scaffold and model when children are at different stages of the process
Large range of abilities
Attitudes and motivation
